ANZ Netball would like to extend congratulations to Jhaniele Fowler of the Ascot Park Hotel Southern Steel on her thoroughly-deserved Most Valuable Player award.
The goal shooter finished her maiden season with 666 goals, breaking the league’s records for most goals in a season and most goals in a game, scoring 65 goals in a game twice this year.

As the 2013 ANZ Junior Club of the Year, the Central Coast Pelicans from Wyong in New South Wales won the opportunity to attend the 2013 Grand Final match and present the Championship Medals to the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
Adelaide Thunderbirds became the first team to win the ANZ Championship title twice when they held out a spirited Queensland Firebirds 50-48 to win the 2013 Grand Final in Adelaide on Sunday.
It was the 13th straight win for the minor premiers who looked to have one hand on the trophy after making a big move in the third quarter but the young tight knit team from Queensland chased all the way in a gutsy and thrilling final quarter….

Queensland Firebirds advanced to the Preliminary Final after knocking out the defending champions with a dominant 53-50 win over Waikato/Bay of Plenty Magic in the Minor Semi-Final in Hamilton on Sunday.
With one apiece after their two clashes during the regular season, the Vixens and their traditional rivals produced a riveting contest, with the Thunderbirds building on a staunch defensive effort to set the winning platform.
Eventually grinding their opponents into submission, the Thunderbirds finished with a flourish in cementing a 12th straight win and a week off ahead of the Grand Final.
The ANZ Championship Finals were not for the faint of heart this week as the best of the best took to the court in search of victory.
Adelaide Thunderbirds will host the Grand Final in two weeks after repelling the Melbourne Vixens 49-39 in the Major Semi-Final in Adelaide on Sunday.

St Bernadettes Netball Club are now in the running to become the 2013 ANZ Junior Club of the Year and attend the Grand Final to present the ANZ Championship Medals to the winning team.
In addition to being nominated, the St Bernadettes Netball Club also receive $2,000 and equipment to the value of $1,000.
